Hillsborough Explorers provided the food again this year at the 150th (Wadsley Church) Scout Group Bonfire. The outside BBQ went down really well in spite of the rain. The event also featured a giant outdoor screening of selected photos from this year’s scouting activities, as well as the usual bonfire and fire work display. Thanks to everyone who came and helped make it a really special night.

Christmas Food Drive A Big Success

Thanks to everyone that took part in our Christmas food drive on behalf of the Cathedral
Archer project. We successfully collected over 100 items of food for the homeless charity.

The Cathedral Archer project, recently profiled on the Channel 4 programme Secret Millionaire, works with homeless and vulnerable people in Sheffield to help them find pathways away from homelessness and exclusion. The project also provides free meals from their purpose built premises attached to Sheffield Cathedral.

Tracy Viner, from the Cathedral Archer Project said: ‘This hard work and support makes such a difference to our clients. The food is vital but the knowledge that these young people have being thinking of them has a huge impact too. Without the food donations, the money we raise would have to be diverted away from the activities and classes we run to help people gain skills and knowledge and move on. Thank you to everyone that has been involved.’
